Storyline

The last time we saw Danny Ocean's crew, they were paying back ruthless casino mogul Terry Benedict after stealing millions from him. However, it's been a while since they've come back together, which is all about to change. When one of their own, Reuben Tishkoff, builds a hotel with another casino owner, Willy Bank, the last thing he ever wanted was to get cut out of the deal personally by the loathsome Bank. Bank's attitude even goes so far as to finding the amusement in Tishkoff's misfortune when the double crossing lands Reuben in the hospital because of a heart attack. However, Danny and his crew won't stand for Bank and what he's done to a friend. Uniting with their old enemy Benedict, who himself has a vendetta against Bank, the crew is out to pull off a major plan; one that will unfold on the night Bank's newest hot spot opens up. They're not in this for the money, but for the revenge. Written by mystic80

This film has no soul
14 June 2007 | by marinavandijkeSee all my reviews

After reading some good reviews here I was looking forward to this movie. Although Ocean's Twelve was obviously disappointing as a sequel, I had sincere hopes that the filmmakers had learned from their mistakes, and come back with some good stuff. And seeing this one get a 7,5 rating in here, I'd gathered that that was the case.

Well, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. This movie didn't have much substance to it. The roles of Damon, Clooney and Pitt were nothing special and actually minor. Also missing was a strong female lead. Where's Julia Roberts, where's Catherine Zeta-Jones? There was no one. Well, you had Ellen Barkin, but she played a fifty-ish slutty tart, not very exciting.

Sure, it's one of those movies where you have to play real close attention as not to miss anything, but then when you do, you realize how poor the plot is. Tension was lacking as it all seemed too easy a job for the Ocean gang to realize their goal. There's really nothing new here. No Ocean's 14 please!

I give it a 6.5/10 rating
