The Russos on Adam Warlock’s absence in Avengers: Infinity War

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of Avengers: Infinity War, have explained why Adam Warlock didn’t show up in the film.

In the Infinity Gauntlet story in the comics, Adam Warlock plays a huge role in defeating Thanos, however, the character didn’t turn up at all in Avengers: Infinity War, even though he has been speculated to appear on screen for years.

Well, now Joe and Anthony Russo, co-directors of the film, have explained why. Speaking to Collider, Joe said Adam’s absence was because they didn’t want people to come into the film knowing what would happen:

“We had a lot of pre-established characters and sometimes characters from the books, again, being a comic book fan, I don’t want to see a literal interpretation of a comic book I’ve read a hundred times because I don’t wanna go to a theater and know
